He torments Billy initially by attaching a note to his car outside of The Tavern quote, "If you don't take this note to the police and get them involved, I will kill a lovely blond school teacher ... If you do take this note to the police, I will instead kill an elderly woman active in charity work." Billy showed Lanny the note and he told him to keep it, although it was probably just a prank. Things got serious when another note popped up again saying, "If you don't go to the police ... I will kill an unmarried man who won't much be missed by the world. If you do ...
